Women Protecting Their Cars

We stumbled upon this fascinating documentation of women and their cars who found themselves caught in the crossfire of the recent Vancouver riots.  It's disturbing to see so much chaos--but Autobliss is buoyed by the fact that women stood up for their property--and a few chivalrous gentlemen stepped, in, too.  This is one of those things that's both encouraging and discouraging at the same time....
(we found this at Carscoop, an excellent car-related blog.  Check out the link:)

As time goes by, more and more people are uploading videos from the recent Vancouver riots. Perhaps one of the most shocking and appalling incidents was the one that involved the three young females defending their BMW M5from the mob, and which we showed you earlier in the day.
However, we discovered yet another film of a woman trying to save her vehicle (it looks like an Audi, but we’re not sure). The only difference here is that unlike the BMW incident, some men actually intervened when one of the hooligans tried to take a swipe at her.
And they weren’t the only ones to take a stance against some of the more violent and foolish hockey fans; if you follow the jump, we have a few more clips of men trying to knock some sense (literally…) into the Vancouver rioters.

Keep on Top of Recall Information

Whatever your station in life, there are always going to be people (including yourself!) whose safety you care about.  It's easy to let recall information on your vehicle go unnoticed.  So we've included a link and information on where you can quickly and easily check if there are any recalls on your vehicle or parts.  It's a good idea to check once a month or so.
The NHTSA keeps a vigorously updated list of all auto and auto related recalls at the above link.  Read a bit more about the NHTSA below or visit the link for more detailed information.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation provides recall information including vehicle and equipment campaigns from 1966 to present. The campaigns include motor vehicle products which experienced a safety-related defect or did not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards.

Child Safety Seats: Make sure they're installed properly :)

I ran across this article over the holiday weekend, and I must say, it got my attention.  Proper installation of carseats and booster chairs for your vehicle is absolutely critical.  If you're not installing it properly, you might as well be seating your precious cargo unbuckled, front seat, with an airbag that could, frankly, snap his little neck.  Please, PLEASE:  read this and make sure your little darlings are properly protected in their carseats.

Top Ten Cars for Women

Take this one with a grain of salt. It's just one person's idea of what the top ten cars for women are.  In my estimation, it appears this list is based on these vehicle's smaller size than anything else.  Still, there are some fun ones in there.  The Mercedes, Mazda 3, and Miata would be at the top of my personal list.
